Koko is back in the news for making another celebrity friend. This time, it’s Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, who let her try out one of his bass guitars. Here’s the original video of Koko slappin’ da bass:

At 45 years of age, Koko has outlived most wild gorillas. (Gorillas kept in captivity have lived upwards of 50 years.) That means that, sadly, she may not have much time to meet too many more people like Flea. We should savor every opportunity we get to see Koko do cool stuff.
This video wasn’t uploaded just for entertainment purposes, though. Flea included a link to this T-shirt campaign to benefit The Gorilla Foundation. As of this writing they’re almost at their goal with just a short time to go, so if you want to help them reach their goal, get to it ASAP!
