Apparently adults with diaper fetishes aren't widely accepted in polite society.
  • One thing all but the most cold-hearted people can agree on is that babies are cute. Yes, even the ones that look like Gordon Ramsay. What’s far more controversial, though, is if it’s okay for grown-ass adults to rock the baby look. That’s what has a suburban Chicago-area store that specializes in the adult baby fetish in hot water this week.

Tykables, open now in Mount Prospect, IL, is a store that sells adult-sized baby stuff: cribs, playpens, and, yes, diapers. Shivers. They just opened, but are already attracting controversy. Even though patrons must be 18 or older to visit, and all store visits are by appointment only, local residents worry that the LEGO display in the store’s window will attract children — children whose parents will then have to have an incredibly uncomfortable conversation with them.

So, is this store actually creepy, or is this whole thing overblown? Judge for yourself. Here’s a video walkthrough of the store, as created by Todd, one of the store’s owners. (You may have to sign in to YouTube and confirm your age to watch the video).

  • What’s our take on this? Well, even though I confess watching this video made me uncomfortable, I’m not going to kink-shame these people. I remember getting rid of a lot of my hangups over stuff like this when, years ago, I saw a show on TLC about a guy with a hardcore fetish for popping balloons. Here’s the video:

  • Just watch how happy popping balloons makes this guy. He’s not hurting anybody, and neither are the adult babies. Are they weird? Sure, but who isn’t? Godspeed, you grown-ups who like wearing diapers. Shine on, you crazy diamonds.

What do you think? Should adult babies be allowed to have their own store, or should this sort of thing be kept indoors? Let us know in the comments below or @WhatsTrending on Twitter!
