What’s Trending is no stranger to cute baby goat videos. There’s the time a girl taught a baby goat how to hop, the time we all fell in love with an orphaned baby pygmy goat, and the time we watched baby goats run around in pajamas. Today’s video features a winning combination: baby goats AND amazing singers.
Anthony Hamilton is a Grammy-winning singer/songwriter who specializes in traditional R&B. When he and his backing singers, the Hamiltones, visited the Indiana state fair recently, they found themselves a new best friend. Here’s the original video from Hamilton’s Twitter:
No one seems to know the answer to the question the Hamiltones croon at this baby goat: whose billy goat is this? Maybe it’s a competition billy goat, or maybe it’s just a random Indiana goat running wild at the state fair. Truly, this is one of music’s greatest mysteries, along with what the “thing” is in Amerie’s “1 Thing,” and what “that” is in Meat Loaf’s “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That).”
In any case, this video made us squeal with glee. As cool as it is, though, it can’t compare to Hamilton’s actual music. I first heard him way back in the mid-2000s, with this slice of the hard-knock life:
Now that’s a stone-cold classic. This tweet came out with perfect timing, too: Hamilton has a new album out that I’m sure will start selling like hotcakes now that he’s gotten the internet’s attention. Here’s an iTunes link, and below is the video for lead single “Amen”:
Good lord is that smooth. What do you think? Do you know whose billy goat this is? Is it YOUR billy goat? Let us know in the comments below or @WhatsTrending on Twitter!
