It’s a good day to be a Gilmore Girls fan.
Now that we’re getting closer to the release date of the revival, Netflix has done something extra special for fans of the cult classic show.
To celebrate the show’s 16th anniversary, 200 coffee shops around the country have transformed their stores into Luke’s Diner for the day. Staying true to the show, employees are wearing flannel shirts, Luke’s aprons, and navy baseball caps.
Fans who get the chance to visit the pop-up diner today will receive a free cup of coffee and plenty opportunities for photos with the “no cell phones” sign and Luke Danes himself! Well, it’s a cardboard cut-out, but it’s better than nothing.
As you can imagine, Gilmore Girls fans are ecstatic… and by ecstatic I mean, people have been in line as early as 10pm last night in Beverly Hills anticipating the opening of the diner.
Fans everywhere have been posting their experiences at Luke’s on social media, like Twitter user @hyejunie who took the time to to dress the part for this outing with her gal pals.
