Ethan joined us vis Skype to talk about his “Two Guys Marathon for Millions” campaign with Meb to see who can raise the most money for their respective philanthropies on Edward Norton’s Crowdrise.com, leading up to the race day on November 6, 2011.
The 2011 ING New York City Marathon has a goal of raising more than $1 million per mile of the 26.2 mile. The donations will be assisting not only Ethan Zohn’s charity, Grassroot Soccor, founded to educate, inspire and mobilize youth to stop the spread of HIV through education and life skills programs, and Meb Keflezighi’s charity, the MEB Foundation, which empowers youth and their families to lead healthy active, balanced lives through sports, but also dozens of other charities of every mission and size across the country.
When talking about why he chose to use Crowdrise, Zohn told Shira, “Edward Norton did an incredible job organizing this. Basically it’s creating a community.”
