The Ultimate Fighting Championship has gained our attention this past year for its incredible online outreach lead by President Dana White. Not only does he encourage his fighters to tweet to get bonuses, but he has used Facebook to live stream preliminary fights further engaging and growing the UFC community. That fan base is about to grow even larger with the first free UFC fight being aired on FOX this Saturday, as part of their new 7-year partnership.
We also couldn’t help but notice that every time there’s a fight, the UFC and its players trend online. So, we sat down with current heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez in our studio to chat about how he’s prepping for his fight against Junior Dos Santos and why he thinks MMA is breaking through into the mainstream:
You can catch the fight this Saturday on FOX 6pm PT/9pm ET.
