Jeremy Lin To Trademark “Linsanity”

  • Capitalizing on his recent performances, Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin is attempting to trademark his now popular moniker, “Linsanity.”

Lin applied for the trademark late Friday. His attorney’s told the Huffington Post that they wanted to protect his intellectual property, paying a filing fee for the trademark of $1,625. The trademark acquisition would cover the use of the phrase on all clothing apparel.

The move was spurred by the actions of a pair of men from California, who appeared ready to trademark the term themselves on Feb. 13.

So what do you think, a smart business move by Lin, or another attempt by a professional athlete to glorify their existence?
