Actor and activist George Clooney was arrested outside of Sudan Embassy today, along with Martin Luther King III, and “several” members of Congress. U.S. Secret Service escorted the peaceful protesters in plastic handcuffs away on Friday morning.
Joined by Amnesty International, the group protests what it says is indiscriminate bombing by the Sudanese Armed Forces and deliberate prevention of food and humanitarian aid to civilians. The Result, says Amnesty International, is putting “nearly half a million people on the bring of starvation.”
