Whole Foods has ambitious aims to upgrade your buying experience with a Microsoft Kinect-powered robotic shopping cart. The nascent prototype is demoed in the video below, following the customer around a mock store, scanning items as they’re placed in the cart, and recommending alternatives when scanned items violate certain guidelines (like a gluten-free diet).
