Lil Wayne’s long anticipated album Tha Carter V was released last Friday, the artist’s 36th birthday. “Uproar” is the album’s standout track, produced by Swizz Beatz.

The signature sound from “Uproar” is actually a sample from a 2001 G. Dep track called “Special Delivery, but the popularity of the song has inspired people to dance…often in the street.

Sound familiar? Shiggy, who kicked off the In My Feelings Challenge in July, was one of the first to post a dance interpretation of “Uproar.”

And Swizz Beatz did his own on stage, though you can see why he’s a professional producer and not a dancer.

And it didn’t take long for Weezy himself to get in on the challenge with his kids in a poorly lit version on Instagram. But the speed with which these guys put up their videos with a hashtag makes us wonder if this is really organic, like the In My Feelings Challenge, or just a savvy marketing strategy by Young Money Records.

Zachary Murphy says: “The Uproar challenge is the most transparently fake, astroturfed, “viral” marketing campaign. It’s just people dancing!”, and @MDiddy_1 tweeted: “This #UproarChallenge seems so forced”

But, organic or not, it’s working pretty well. In just a few days, there are thousands of user-uploaded Uproar Challenges to Instagram, and unfortunately people are already doing the challenge while jumping out of moving cars.

Seriously, don’t do that. For every one person who goes viral and ends up on Jimmy Kimmel, 10 more will slip and break a rib.
