Selena Gomez responded to a politician who suggested she should be “deported” after sharing a now-deleted video of herself crying over recent immigration crackdowns.
The emotional video, posted on her Instagram Stories, showed Gomez sobbing and expressing her distress over mass deportations, saying, “my people are getting attacked.”
In response to the backlash, Gomez posted and deleted a message that read, “apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people,” before addressing the politician’s comment with a sarcastic, “Thanks for the laugh and the threat.”
