The Greatest Things You Missed on Twitter #Oscars2015
The Oscars have proven to be the best time that a drunk, cynical and funny person can have on Twitter. Luckily, there are tens of thousands of those people furiously tweeting jokes every second of the Oscars every year now. And there’s nothing like living the most pretentious night of the year while basically having a Skype date with everyone on the internet.
Here are the best, the worst and the funniest things that happened last night during the 2015 87th Annual Academy Awards (on Twitter).
First of all, here’s video footage of the most excruciating moment of the night (I don’t care how much you didn’t like NPH’s jokes).
This was pretty much everyone’s reaction to John Travolta touching them at all
In what was supposed to be John Travolta’s redemption for not saying Idina Menzel’s name correctly last year, he made headlines by making it weird.
The thought of John Travolta trying to pronounce Benedict Cumberbatch never got old
When they cut to Clint Eastwood’s expressionless face after NPH made a joke about Eastwood “pulling a Kanye”
When JK Simmons won and told everyone to call their parents
Here’s how they responded…
What’s Trending’s Own Lon Harris made a hilarious joke only Redditors will understand
Lady Gaga NAILED her Sound of Music performance, though she did wear some ridiculous gloves on the red carpet. Guess what Twitter focused on.
NPH lost most of Twitter after about 30 minutes of b(d)ad jokes
When all of his jokes failed, Neil Patrick Harris took his clothes off. It worked.
Everyone was in love with Wes Andersen looking happier than we’ve ever seen him.
People liked Adam Levine’s short performance
Chris Pine cried over John Legend’s performance
Terrence Howard gave an unnecessarily emotional reading of some film synopses
They weirdly introduced people said to be “tomorrow’s stars”
Nicole Kidman presented
Michael Keaton was furiously chewing gum throughout the entire ceremony and everyone noticed.
Leonardo DiCaprio was snubbed again
Marc Maron’s comment on Dana Perry’s black fuzzball dress landed better than NPH’s because he didn’t immediately follow her telling us her son committed suicide.
And Birdman won Best Picture!
Pretty much how the night ended for anyone in front of their TV last night
And the next morning, this news anchor either made a huge mistake or said something very casually racist
Then she apologized on Twitter
And that’s pretty much everything you need to know.
