The “Fight of the Century” as Told Through “Punch Out”
Did you miss the “Fight of the Century” this weekend? If you did, you didn’t miss much. Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s technical victory over Manny Pacquiao for the welterweight title was not exactly the knock-out fans were hoping for. There was a lot of defense, a lot of bobbing and weaving, and — oddly for people who may not watch boxing very often — a whole lot of hugging.
But if you missed the fight and still want to see it, have no fear. This recreation of the $400 million fight uses the Nintendo classic “Punch Out”. It’s surprisingly accurate.
That’s basically what happened. Hey, at least you saved $100 not ponying up for pay-per-view.
Iron Mike knows what’s up.
