Woman Blows Up Old Wedding Dress To Celebrate Divorce

Look. When a marriage ends, it’s never a good thing. But when a dress explodes, it’s always a cool thing. So we call this the grand irony of life. Kind of like how it’s sad to move but fun to draw a big angry face on your old house as if your old house ate you and that is why you’re gone. Life is a spectrum of madness. In any case, this woman, newly divorced, celebrated the end of her marriage in the only way appropriate — by blowing up her damn dress. Check the video out below.

Kimberly Santleben-Stiteler, 43 years old, is the woman who blew up the dress as part of a freeing ritual from her ex husband of 14 years. Although she sold much of what was left over from her marriage, she thought the “dress represented a lie,” and must be done away with in a manner most extreme. At first Santleben-Stitele considered burning the dress, but nay — explosion is what must be done! I’m sure you all understand.

The dress was hooked up to $200 worth of tannerite and blown up 200 yards away as a crowd of 40 watched the damn thing go up in flames. Later its tatters were recovered. The 200 yards the dress had its distance from was twice as much as the usual because, according to Kimberly Santleben-Stiteler’s sister, Carla–

“We have a friend who is a bomb tech, and he kept saying, ‘That’s really a lot,’ like five different times when we told him our plan, so we had to back it up.”

I mean, the video is impressive, but really I don’t imagine it’s very hard to destroy a flimsy wedding dress. Oh well! Good bye, dress!
