Sofia Ashraf is an Indian rapper, and she’s bringing attention to the failure of Unilever to make amends for its well-documented contamination of the water in the Tamil Nadu region of Southern India. I’m not making any judgments about whether the following is good or bad, but it took Nicki Minaj to get this attention.

The video is a parody of Minaj’s “Anaconda” – which totally got snubbed from a spaceman award because of racism or body image or something! – and asks Unilever to compensate workers affected by the toxic chemicals and finish cleaning up the area. The plant that caused all the trouble closed back in 2001, but former workers are still experiencing its health effects.
