Harry Styles, the Grammy winner who performed for sold out Madison Square Garden residencies and later Slane Castle in Ireland, made headlines for a very different reason recently. He has officially shaved off his signature wispy curls. Naturally, the drastic change is being met with widespread memes and shock from the singer’s dedicated fans.
Amid the online frenzy, Styles’ mother, Anne Twist, reposted a screenshot from an Instagram account called “Who Gives A Crap” that reminded concerned fans that Styles’ hair will indeed grow back. Twist re shared Styles’ own confirmation of the haircut and reminded fans to follow her son’s ethos–to treat people with kindness.
“When you consider that H has a legacy of kindness and inclusion, has always made every effort to make everyone feel seen and appreciated for exactly who they are … there’s an irony in the negativity he’s been shown for having a haircut. Sorry but I don’t get it 🤷🏻♀️,” Twist captioned the snapshot, which Styles shared for his upcoming fragrance and beauty brand Pleasing.

The theory that Styles shaved his head first began with a widely circulated grainy image taken by a fan who had spotted the singer at a U2 concert with his rumored girlfriend, actress Taylor Russell. TMZ later published clearer images of the pair in which Styles clearly dons a buzz cut.
