Pete Davidson Speaks Out After Being Harassed By Grande Fans

Ariana Grande’s “Thank U Next” video was adored by fans all over for both its blunt show of emotion, and its intricate references to the complicated relationships of its star singer. The last relationship to be referenced in the video was that of, of course, Pete Davidson, one half of the runaway romance that the gossip loving world couldn’t get enough of. The song was relatively respectful to Davidson, referencing the concept of Big Dick Energy and calling him fun, but the fans of course can be so much crueler. The Grande fans have continued to harass Davidson for imagined crimes against the singer they so love.

Davidson, who has long been open about his struggles with mental health, posted a message to Instagram saying amongst other things, that the fans will not convince him to kill himself as they have apparently been trying to tell him to do.

Said Davidson: “I’ve kept my mouth shut. Never mentioned any names, never said a word about anyone or anything. I’m trying to understand how when something happens to a guy the whole entire world just trashes him without any facts or frame of references. Especially in today’s climate where everyone loves to be offended and upset it truly is mind boggling. I’ve been getting online bullied and in public by people for 9 months. I’ve spoken about BPD [borderline personality disorder] and being suicidal publicly only in the hopes that it will help bring awareness and help kids like myself who don’t want to be on this earth. I just want you guys to know. No matter how hard the internet or anyone tries to make me kill myself. I won’t. I’m upset I even have to say this. To all those holding me down and seeing this for what it is – I see you and I love you.”

The statement continues Pete Davidson’s brave outspokenness when it comes to mental health, and hopefully will work to stop the toxic fandom coming his way for the crime of being broken up with, apparently.
