Since Former President Donald Trump was banned from the major social media platforms, his presence on social media has been different. After the Capitol riot in January, social media platforms have strictly enforced their guidelines. Now, Trump plans on launching his own platform called #MediaBuzz.

#MediaBuzz

A senior adviser told Fox News that Trump is planning on launching his own social media platform in about three months. Jason Miller, a spokesperson for Trump’s 2020 campaign, expects the platform will be the next best thing saying it, “completely refines the game.”

He told Fox, “I do think that we’re going to see President Trump returning to social media in probably about two or three months here, with his own platform.”

“Everybody is going to be waiting and watching to see what exactly President Trump does,” Miller added.

Although he didn’t give too many details about the platform, he did say that there have been meetings about the launch at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump’s former adviser didn’t elaborate much more about details, only saying that Trump has been having meetings at Mar-a-Lago about launching the platform.

He is confident that Trump will be able to get millions of people to download the platform. It’s safe to assume that Trump’s platform will benefit from Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act since he spent months trying to repeal it.

Until then, Trump will be endorsing Republican candidates as soon as today. Trump announced his endorsement for Representative Jody Hice. “Pay attention to Georgia tomorrow, on Monday. There’s a big endorsement that’s coming that’s going to really shake things up in the political landscape in Georgia. It’s big, it’s coming tomorrow, and just be sure to tune in,” Miller stated Sunday.

Twitter’s Reaction to #MediaBuzz

Twitter quickly came with jokes for the anticipation of Trump’s new social media platform. Many have made jokes about the kind of people who are going to download the platform. Users have even expressed some concerns as to what kind of information people will be spreading on this potential new platform.

After Former President Trump’s tweets inciting the riots at the Capitol Building, people can’t help but wonder if this kind of behavior will be repeated since there won’t be any strict guidelines that Donald Trump will have to follow.

If Donald Trump makes up his own rules on this platform, what kind of things will be said on there? Where is the line drawn? These kinds of questions are being asked since the announcement of this new social media platform.

Banned from Twitter

Following Trump’s incitements of the US Capitol riots on January 6th, social media platforms permanently banned Trump. The US Capitol riots where hundreds of Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol building left five people dead.

Twitter was quick to ban Donald Trump since he was tweeting out inciting these riots. Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube also quickly banned his accounts following the riots. Twitter was Former President Donald Trump’s go-to social media platform. He was notorious for tweeting things all throughout his presidency.

Trump was suspended three times in just a couple of hours. He was permanently suspended on his personal account for posing a risk of violence. The social media platform removed a bunch of his tweets on the White House’s official account for the president.
@POTUS is the name of the account where he tweeted out, “We will not be SILENCED!” following Twitter’s decision to suspend his personal account.
Trump’s campaign account was also suspended with an announcement from Twitter stating, “After a close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”
Twitter’s decision to ban Trump’s account came a day after Facebook locked Trump out of his account. This cut off the Former President from directly communicating with his millions of followers.
Social media has been buzzing about the new social media platform that Trump will be launching in the coming months. His followers and supporters are eager to move onto the next thing to be able to communicate with people whose views align with theirs without feeling like their not getting the ‘real news’.
Others are concerned that this could be a start to a possible new campaign for 2024. There has been some talk about Trump supporters already wearing their Trump 2024 gear in anticipation to get him back in the office.
What do you think? Will you be downloading Trump’s new social media platform or are you going to sit this one out?
