Why choose between dirt biking and surfing in Tahiti when you can do both at the same time?

Robbie “Maddo” Maddison spent two years figuring out how to modify his bike with custom water skis that attached along the wheels, and it finally paid off with this amazing video, where he bikes through the forest, along the surface of a river and straight into the powerful surf in Teahupo’o, dressed in full FMX gear.

As Rolling Stone notes, Teahupo’o in Tahiti is one of the most dangerous surfing spots on the planet. Maddo had a rescue team on standby as he performed the stunt, and when you see the giant waves bearing down on him you can imagine why.

“I’d become quite terrified, trembling in my boots,” he said. “But I made my bed and it was time to lie in it.”
