Continuing the tradition of remaking every movie and TV show we all ever watched in our childhood, the first teaser trailer for the updated version of Pete's Dragon is finally here. I'm not sure anyone was necessarily eagerly awaiting it? But it is finally here nonetheless.
It's been a long time since I've seen the 1977 Pete's Dragon, but this new version appears to be a far cry from the original, not only replacing the cartoon dragon with a terrifying realistic-looking one and ditching the musical aspect, but appearing to have a number of major plot changes as well. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you're going to remake a movie, making it, you know, a different movie isn't always something that gets done. Regardless, this Pete's Dragon so far looks to be an interesting update for a generation that is used to a much higher visual quality of film than those of us who can remember the original had. Fingers crossed it makes good on all its promises of greatness.
