  • Kanye West appeared on Ellen to premiere the official video for “Only One,” his collaboration with Paul McCartney about his daughter, North West (and maybe Kanye himself, if you believe that the song is actually written by Kanye’s mother, speaking through her son, about him).

The full video is available right now at KanyeWest.com. Here’s the abbreviated clip that premiered on Ellen:

  • The video features Kanye on a deserted, empty road. At one point he comes toward the camera and sings a verse of “Only One,” that appears unmixed and unautotuned over the studio version.

On Ellen, West talked about how marriage has changed him (“I shut up more.”) and what he does differently now (“I was really jumping in front of the tank for other people or for culture in a way, so now I always have to have that in my mind that I have a family to protect.”)

  • West also made a very interesting parallel between his daughter and his own personality. He says that he’d been going through his “terrible twos,” that, just like his daughter, she has so much to communicate but can’t put it into words. West claims to have had the same struggle with film and fashion.

His new, as-of-yet untitled album, is due some time this year.
