Zach Galifianakis has scored big guests on his Funny or Die series "Between Two Ferns" in the past, but it's going to be hard to top sitting down in a darkened room with a sitting U.S. President. Barack Obama just crossed the ferns in an effort to get the word out - especially to young people - about the Affordable Care Act and Healthcare.gov.
The 6 minute video includes Obama's plug for young people who feel "invincible" to sign up for insurance on the much-maligned website, and also finds the politician and comedian exchanging some of the show's trademark insults and put-downs. (Plus an unnecessarily intimate look at Zach's ongoing spider bite problem.)
The video was posted mere hours ago and has already climbed to 3.3 million views. But even more significantly, in the aftermath of the video, FunnyOrDie.com became the #1 referrer to Healthcare.gov, according to a tweet from White House Senior Communications Advisor Tara McGuinness.
http://t.co/FrO24hdvcA is the #1 source of referrals to http://t.co/0r93BavlrV right now.
