President Barack Obama is in full campaign mode, and boasted the latest job growth numbers with a snazzy new interactive infographic. Job growth has been a role, adding 243,000 new jobs in January, vastly exceeding the expected 150,000 jobs. The new numbers bring unemployment down to 8.3.
The good news had Republicans scrambling on Twitter to spin the news in their favor.
Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner took a similar line, “welcoming” the new job growth numbers, but arguing on Twitter that the country can do better.
Today’s unemployment report is welcome news, but we must do better #4jobs
