See Why This Small Town Louisiana Sheriff Is Going Huge Online

Hilarious local TV "Crime Stoppers" highlights the small-town crime of the century

  • Stelly’s Market and Restaurant in Melville, Louisiana, was broken into earlier this month, and the thief stole hundreds of dollars. There’s a $1,000 reward for information leading to the culprit’s arrest, and Lt. Clay Higgins is sure that anyone who knows the perp will come forward.

  • What makes this sheriff's deputy so confident he'll catch his man? For one thing, Stelly's was a beloved local restaurant, and Higgins is confident the community will rally to find the culprit. For another thing, Lt. Higgins is a CRIME STOPPER, which means he always gets his man! Local ABC affiliate KATC runs a regular "Crime Stopper" segment on it's station, where local law enforcement officers discuss community issues. Lt. Higgins is a frequent guest on Crime Stoppers. And for a crime of this magnitude, he won't rest until he has justice.

"The sheriff likes Stelly's restaurant, and so do I," Higgins says.

This dose of small town justice has gone big online. But what do you think? Will the Stelly thief turn himself in? Has Lt. Higgins gone too far?? Let us know!
