It is in the process of doing one of the largest upgrades on its platform in more than 10 years. The redesign will alter the way all the subscribers receive, read, and make decisions on what to see, which will enable the entire process to be quicker, easier, and even more personalized.
First Time Since 2013
NBC News agrees that this is the first big remodeling of Netflix since 2013. Eunice Kim, Chief Product Officer, said that it seemed time to take a giant leap forward, and the company added some new technology to its expanding range of entertainment.
Global Rollout Begins
Netflix Tudum validates that the redesigned homepage started to deploy on a worldwide basis on May 19 and initially focused on LG and Samsung smart TVs and streaming devices, with other devices gradually becoming available in the ensuing weeks all over the globe.
Navigation Moves Up

Engadget reports that Netflix CPO Eunice Kim has explained that the new TV homepage is a more simplistic, more intuitive, and more accurate reflection of the overall Netflix entertainment spectrum in the present day. The top navigation bar has been removed to the right, but now it is displayed at the top of the screen.
Bigger Thumbnails
The Hollywood Reporter verifies that thumbnail images are now far bigger than over the new interface. When scrolling, all tiles dynamically show the cast and description (as well as the runtime, award wins, and top 10 history) above the fold as the user scrolls through the tiles.
My Netflix Hub
My Netflix is a personal home that is added to Netflix Tudum. Continue Watching, My List, saved reminders, content downloaded, and previously watched trailers will appear on this home page – and every subscriber will have a totally customized home page.
Smarter Recommendations

Engadget reports Netflix CTO Elizabeth Stone has confirmed that real-time responsive suggestions have been implemented. The system is responsive to live browsing behavior, time of the day, and explicit user inputs to suggest content that most appropriately fits the current mood of the respective viewer.
AI Search Arrives
As per Engadget, Netflix is in the pilot of an OpenAI-based natural language search option. Users are not bound by a keyword, genre, or show title as the sole means of searching, but specify what they would like to see, like slightly scary and funny.
Beyond Streaming
The redesignical justification of the expansion of Netflix beyond the conventional streaming to live events, sports, and cloud gaming is testified in Tom’s Guide. According to Hollywood Reporter, the revised interface is also targeted at the ad-supported layer of the service, the level that is growing at a rapid pace, and is subscription-based.
Contextual Labels
Netflix Tudum verifies that any new contextual call-outs now appear under each title on a browse, such as Emmy Nominee, Highly Rewatched, Cult Favorite and Leaving Soon – to help decide without additional search behavior.
The Bigger Picture
Netflix is no longer competing on the basis of content. Not only due to the focus on the time of engagement, but also due to the subscribers that it will bring, this redesign is a pointer to a bigger industry shift of how streaming platforms will need to change in order to continue to be competitive in 2026.
