It certainly LOOKS gross – a battered, deep-fried hunk of meat that distinctly resembles a long-tailed rat. But now KFC is saying this viral image is a hoax.
Devorise Dixon, a 25-year-old California man, posted pictures of the alleged deep-fried rat that he says KFC served him. He claimed that after he took a bite out of it, the manager admitted it was a rat and apologized.
But KFC is saying it’s just a weird-shaped chicken tender, and close-up photos of the bite Dixon took out of it “clearly” show “it’s a piece of hand-breaded white meat chicken.”
They’re also saying they’ve attempted to contact him several times, but he’s refusing to talk to them.
Fingers crossed that this is actually a hoax and we can go back to enjoying KFC’s factory-farmed, overly-processed, grease-saturated chicken-based food products.
