Game of Thrones’ Fan’s Epic Journey to Create a Direwolf in Snow

Move over, traditional fan artists! You’ve got nothing on Simon Beck.

Simon Beck is a snow artist. No, that doesn’t mean he builds snowmen or creates snow angels. What he does is a phenomenal act far beyond our measly childlike understanding of what you can do with snow. He treks through the icy white stuff, creating patterns, and ultimately, giant pictures — in this case, a direwolf from the show Game of Thrones, complete with “Winter Is Coming” underneath. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I’m going to quite writing about it and let you just go watch the amazing video documenting his creation. Until then, you know nothing, about snow.
