Waffle the Tiny Boa Loves His New Sandbox

Snakes are really starting to have their internet moment, if you haven’t noticed. Any video of a snake (or “snek” as the kids say these days) doing something cute has a good chance of going viral and getting some decent Tumblr GIF sets.

This one’s a pretty good contender: Waffle the black-and-white Kenyan sand boa, presented with a miniature version of one of those green frog plastic sandboxes. Waffle immediately slides off owner Jenny Gaines’ palm and burrows almost completely into the sand, popping his little head and flicking tongue to the surface a moment later. The video has more than 2 million views after just one day.
