  • It used to be that musicians vied for a Grammy nomination, but as of late, some A-list celebrities have deemed the awards show not ‘relevant’ or ‘representative’ of today’s young singers.

According to TMZ, Kanye West, Drake and Justin Bieber object to the award show’s representation. Though Bieber and Drake are both nominated for multiple awards this year, it is not certain whether the two will be present.

Kanye West, on the other hand, has his own beef with the awards show. Despite having received 21 Grammys, the rapper is unhappy with the lack of diversity. Not once has the rapper gone head-to-head with a white singer in any category.

In addition, Kanye has mentioned before that he would not attend the ceremony if Frank Ocean did not receive a nomination. Ocean, however, did not submit Blonde for consideration.

The 59th Grammy awards show is set to air on February 12 and will be hosted by James Corden.
