The concept of marrying yourself — walking yourself down the aisle, and having a ceremony where you find love with yourself might sound odd — but— it is in fact an incredible act of self love, as Brooklynite Erika Anderson shows. In the clip above, we see a traditional marriage ceremony except with but one person!
Self marriage Erika describes as “women saying yes to themselves”, the realization that you are enough for yourself and you don’t need a man to make yourself complete. There are even industries that will make for you cards of daily affirmation. It’s really sweet! People need to remember that they have to be their own biggest fans, and that the love of others only comes when they love themselves!
Also, it reminds me of one of my favorite songs by Sparks, which is always nice.
