  • Two Navy corpsmen have been removed from their posts after they posted images of them mishandling newborn babies on Snapchat.

In a series of Snapchats, two Navy corpsmen were shown mistreating newborn children.

In one image, an infant is being flipped off with the caption, “How I currently feel about these mini satans.” In another Snapchat, loud music plays while one of the medical staff makes the newborn baby dance.

The two staff members in the Snaps have been identified.

Allyson Thompson, the corpsmen seen in the video, and Joanie Barrett, the presumed photographer, were identified by followers and reported to the hospital.

The Navy hospital quickly took action.

One Facebook, Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s Commanding Officer writes, “[The footage] is outrageous, unacceptable, incredibly unprofessional, and cannot be tolerated. We have identified those involved– two staff (not nurses as reported on some sites). They have been removed from providing patient care and they will be handled by the legal system and military justice.”

It’s worth noting that the two culprits in this case are not nurses. Thompson and Barrett were Hospital corpsmen which are “enlisted Navy personnel who provide assistance to medical care professionals and also serve as combat medics when attached to Marine infantry units.”

Naturally, this horrifying footage has people on social media outraged.
