  • Valderrama’s new show on NBC is called Awake and is the story of a man living in two realities. The show is dramatic and intricate and as Wilmer expressed, “It’s it own show just to describe the actual show.” We’ll definitely be checking that out when it premieres early next year.

Wilmer hasn’t lost his sense of humor though. Earlier this year he teamed up with Akiva Schaffer of Lonely Island to transform himself into the utterly hilarious Eduardo Fresco. The way the actor describes the character is, “Imagine if Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin had a baby.”

That might be enough for most people, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg for the busy Valderrama. He also has his show for competitive trash talkers, Yo Momma, which has found a big digital audience. Wilmer explained, “The access to straight up fan to artist has been so groundbreaking when it comes to social media.” He also exclusively revealed that the new version of the show will be called Swag Baggers.

Then we got to meet a very special friend of Wilmer’s, Asher Bradshaw, the subject of Valderrama’s new documentary Shred. Bradshaw is a 7-year-old skateboarding phenom Wilmer discovered online. Bradshaw looked adorable on the couch next Wilmer, but as evidence by his videos, he can really tear it up at the skate park.

Valderrama announced on our show the launch of his Kickstarter campaign to finish the film. The actor/producer said that he was inspired by the format of Kickstarter. “The fact that the people can be emotionally involved…I thought that Kickstarter was such a great place for people to actually be invested in someone’s journey,” he told us.

Just like Wilmer, we encourage you to check out the Kickstarter campaign for Shred.
