  • While you were sleeping, stories were trending. Justin Bieber drops new single, “Boyfriend,” James Cameron reaches the depths of the earth, Tiger Woods is back, Herman Cain releases new ad — for what?

Beliebers are rejoicing this Monday morning after Justin Bieber released his new single, “Boyfriend,” crooning, “If I was your boyfriend, I’d never let you go. I can take you places you ain’t never been before.” Despite his very public relationship with Selena Gomez, now millions of Bieber-loving ladies can swoon to the sound of Bieber telling them he’ll be their boyfriend. But that’s not the only hype for which Biebs is trending. He just launched a new fragrance; he’ll be releasing a new album in June; he starts a Believe Tour in the summer, and he will be releasing a new movie, Never Say Never Ever. Plus pledging loyalty to be 20 million peoples’ boyfriend? Going to be a busy year.

  • Titanic and Avatar director, James Cameron, just completed the world’s first solo dive to the deepest-known point on Earth — the bottom of the Pacific Ocean’s Mariana Trench. Cameron launched from the “Challenger Deep” site in a specially designed submarine. Once he reached the ocean floor — roughly 7 miles below the water’s surface — he tweeted, “Hitting bottom never felt so good. Can’t wait to share what I’m seeing w/ you.” Making the first solo dive, he collected samples for marine biologists, geologists, and geophysicists. And, who knows, possibly inspiration for a new movie. What did you do this morning?

After being out of the competition for 30 months, Tiger Woods returned to the green this weekend at the Arnold Palmer Invitational to do what he does best — win. This marks his 72nd PGA Tour victory. Now that he’s back in the game, Woods is the obvious favorite to win the Masters tournament. Do you think the golf star can make a full comeback despite his domestic scandals?

Herman Cain released this “Rabbit” ad, lamenting the current tax code for www.sickofastimulus.com. Despite the nonsensical reasoning for the ad’s release, the video seems to be a bit of a headscratcher in and of itself. Word to the wise: it also doesn’t make a politician look good if he releases a video of an innocent rabbit being thrown into the air and shot — even if it’s a metaphor for bad business.
