Keith Olbermann Suing Al Gore's Network For Firing Him

  • Liberal pundit Keith Olbermann is suing Al Gore’s network, Current TV, for firing him. In only a year, the relationship between Olbermann and Current TV had become so toxic, that news of its bitter relationship had begun to leak out. Olbermann has argued that Current TV did not “invest” enough in quality programming and Current TV claims that Olbermann was absent during key political events, such as the Iowa Caucus.

Olbermann took to Twitlonger, a service that displays tweets longer than 140 characters to issue statement:

I’d like to apologize to my viewers and my staff for the failure of Current TV…Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt, instead of abiding by their promises and obligations and investing in a quality news program, finally thought it was more economical to try to get out of my contract…In due course, the truth of the ethics of Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt will come out. For now, it is important only to again acknowledge that joining them was a sincere and well-intentioned gesture on my part, but in retrospect a foolish one. That lack of judgment is mine and mine alone, and I apologize again for it.

As it was found out that Current TV will replace Olbermann with the former CNN host and sex-scandal-rattled New York State Attorney General, Eliot Spitzer, Twitter was out in full force with clever commentary:
