At the premiere of Avalon TV from World of Wonder, RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Gigi Goode opened up about the behind the scenes production that went into the variety show. The drag race queen also shed light on why this release was so important to her.
Avalon TV, the latest from WOW Presents Plus, stars collective members Gigi Goode, Symone, Hunter Crenshaw, Mark Monroe and many more in front of the camera in truly wild situations.
Fans of the Emmy-winning competition show were first introduced to House of Avalon, a group of collective transplants to Los Angeles from the state of Arkansas, by house member Gigi Goode on Drag Race Season 12. Through two seasons of Drag Race, Goode and fan favorite queen Symone both from the same house, were able to show their diverse talent and artistry on the series.
And now that house is a TV show. Goode mentioned that many opportunities came up through WOW Presents Plus, but this time was different.
The queen stated, “I mean there’s been a lot of different opportunities with WOW Presents over the years, and it kind of just never really panned out to how it was suppose to – and I think this happened at the right time.”
She went on to add, “We were all just hungry and ready to create something. You know, we’ve been working on this for the past two years now. For it to finally be out and get a taste of what the world is like through our eyes is so exciting.”
In the conversation with Goode, the star opened up claiming that the point of the show was a culmination of every single genre of television that many have grown to come and love. In the past, Goode and fellow cast members claim that Drag Race prepared them for an opportunity like this.

However, aside from the sketches, parodies, and so much more, the queen opened up about a very deep personal moment in the show for herself.
Goode mentions, “I actually have a very personal kind of life changing decision and moment in my life that happens to me on the show. And it was something that I wanted to welcome cameras into. It was really a final apart of my gender euphoria. That was something I found was really important to be apart of this.”
Back in 2021, the RPDR finalist opened up publicly about being transgender and nonbinary. Goode announced her transition process around January 2021 with hormone replacement therapy and welcomed Avalon TV into this moment of her life.
Aside from the life moments showcased on Avalon TV, the star says she is simply excited for what is to come in the future. New episodes of Avalon TV premiere on Mondays on WOW Presents Plus.
