Amy Slaton, star of the reality TV show “1000-Lb. Sisters,” is currently entangled in legal issues. Slaton was arrested on September 2 in Tennessee, along with Brian Scott Lovvorn, on charges related to illegal possession of controlled substances and child endangerment. The arrests were made by the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the department’s statement posted on Facebook, officers were dispatched to the local Safari Park after receiving reports that a guest had been bitten by a camel. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies noticed unusual odors emanating from the vehicle belonging to Slaton and Lovvorn. This discovery led to their arrest on charges of possessing Schedule I and Schedule VI substances, as well as two counts of child endangerment.

The statement from the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department emphasized that the charges are allegations and that Slaton and Lovvorn are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The statement also noted that further details regarding the camel bite incident were not provided, and the headline of the release read, “FROM FEEDING A CAMEL TO THE SLAMMER.”

Slaton, who has two children, Gage Deon Halterman, and Glenn Allen Halterman  with her ex-husband Michael Halterman, has not yet commented publicly on the situation. E! News has reached out to local law enforcement officials as well as representatives and attorneys for Slaton for additional information but has not received any responses.

The Sheriff’s Department has not clarified whether Slaton’s children were present at the time of the arrest or provided additional context regarding the child endangerment charges.

Since Michael Halterman filed for divorce in March 2023 after four years of marriage, Slaton has been open about her personal life on social media. However, the nature of her relationship with Brian Scott Lovvorn remains unclear. Slaton recently criticized her former boyfriend Kevin on social media, accusing him of dating her for fame. In a March 11 TikTok post, she expressed her frustration, stating, “I love y’all. It’s been a rough few days and f–k him! Not crying over his loser ass.”

Before her relationship with Kevin, Slaton had briefly been involved with Tony Rodgers, whom she introduced on social media in December. Although that relationship did not last, it prompted Slaton to reflect on how she wants to approach introducing new partners to her children. In a February 25 TikTok video, she shared her thoughts on the matter, saying, “You gotta meet my kids’ daddy first and build that bond, and then maybe in a year.”

Amid the turbulence in her personal life, Slaton has found support from her sister and co-star Tammy Slaton. Amy Slaton told E! News in December that Tammy had offered her and her children a safe place to stay, highlighting the support she has received from her siblings during difficult times. “All my siblings have been there for me with whatever I needed,” Amy Slaton said.
