Drew Afualo, the outspoken TikTok star known for her comedic take on misogyny, is quickly making waves in the podcasting world with her show, ‘The Comment Section‘. Known for her sharp humor and unapologetic approach to online discourse, Afualo has built a massive following on social media. Now, as she continues to expand her influence, Afualo is reflecting on her growing partnership with Spotify and what the future holds for her podcasting career.

In a recent interview, Afualo discussed her experience working with Spotify and the evolution of her show since its inception. “I didn’t really know what to expect at first,” she admitted, “but I knew I was going to love it. It has far exceeded that expectation, and it’s been wonderful.” Afualo’s podcast, which is produced and distributed by Spotify, has not only given her a platform to discuss important issues, but also provided her with the freedom to be authentic and creative.

One of the key reasons Afualo praises Spotify is the platform’s support and commitment to amplifying her voice. “Spotify’s been an incredible partner,” she said. “They’re so receptive to anything I love or don’t love, and that’s rare for big brands. They really listen to what I want for my show and respect my vision.” This level of collaboration has allowed Afualo to build a more engaged and diverse audience, and it has also helped her secure high-profile guests, further elevating the show’s appeal.

Afualo’s podcast is also benefiting from new tools Spotify is rolling out for creators. At Spotify’s Creator Day event, Afualo expressed excitement about some of the new features that will impact the way her content is consumed. One of the biggest changes is the ability for creators to monetize their podcasts while offering uninterrupted video content. “I love the fact that they’re doing the ad rollout with uninterrupted video,” she said. “It’s a huge level up for listeners, especially for those who love to watch my show. I think it’s fantastic, and I’m so grateful for it.”

As the podcasting landscape becomes more competitive, Afualo is optimistic about the future of her show and how new tools will help her connect with listeners in fresh and exciting ways. “It’s amazing to be a part of such a forward-thinking platform that’s dedicated to helping creators like me thrive,” she said. “Spotify has really helped me grow in ways I couldn’t have imagined.”

When asked about the most surprising or unexpected responses she’s received from her listeners, Afualo shared a few memorable moments. One comment, which she found both funny and surprising, came after her episode featuring singer Chappell Roan. “I got this one comment that said, ‘I don’t know who this girl is or what this show is, but since Chappell’s on it, I guess I’ll watch it,'” Afualo recalled with a laugh. “I was like, okay, T, I’ll take the view. Sure!”

Afualo’s podcast features a diverse range of guests, which she believes is one of the most unique aspects of the show. “The diversity of my guests is one of the things people love most about *The Comment Section*,” she said. “Listeners never know what to expect week to week, and that’s one of the best parts of the show.” Afualo regularly features guests from different backgrounds, including musicians, influencers, and artists, making each episode fresh and engaging.

She also shared that she has maintained close relationships with many of her past guests. “I stay in touch with most, if not all, of my guests,” she said. “I’ve recorded over 150 episodes at this point, and I’m grateful to have formed real friendships with these people. We talk personally all the time, and I’m thankful that they’ve continued to be a part of my life after the show.”

Afualo’s connection with Chappell Roan, in particular, stands out as one of the highlights of her podcasting journey. Roan appeared on the show in July, and the two immediately hit it off. Their chemistry was so palpable that fans began speculating about the astrological connection between the two. “People loved the episode and were like, ‘It makes so much sense because Chappell’s a Pisces and you’re a Virgo,’” Afualo said, referencing the compatibility of their star signs. “We got along so well. We’re like twins.”

Afualo, a self-proclaimed astrology enthusiast, credits her own Virgo nature for her easy rapport with Roan and other close friends, like fellow influencer Brittany Broski, who is a Taurus. “Tauruses, I get along with them so well,” Afualo said with a smile. “Taurus women, especially. They’re just great. I feel like our personalities just mesh.”

Her astrological inclinations aside, Afualo has also made it clear that her personal relationships with friends and guests are rooted in genuine connections rather than cosmic forces. “I’m really lucky to have such wonderful people in my life, both personally and professionally,” she said. “The fact that people want to keep coming back to my show, not just for the recording but for the friendship, means a lot to me.”
