On September 2, Charli XCX bid farewell to “brat summer” with a tweet that read, “goodbye forever brat summer.” However, the British alt-pop star isn’t quite done with the season yet. She has one final treat for her fans—a new remix of her hit song “Talk Talk,” featuring fellow artist Troye Sivan.
The anticipation for this remix has been building over the past few weeks. Charli XCX finally gave her followers a glimpse of what’s to come by sharing a video snippet of the remix on X (formerly known as Twitter) on September 9. In the video, Charli and Troye Sivan are seen dancing and lip-syncing to the revamped track in a backstage area. Charli passes the camera to Sivan during his verse, creating a dynamic and engaging preview of their collaboration.
In the snippet, Sivan sings, “OK, here’s the plan, I wanna fly you out to Amsterdam,” followed by details about his romantic intentions. The remix appears to extend the original “Talk Talk,” with Sivan’s verse coming in seamlessly after Charli’s outro. This suggests that the remix builds upon the original track’s ending, giving it a fresh twist.

Although Dua Lipa’s involvement in the remix has been hinted at, her voice is not heard in the snippet. Charli XCX reportedly shared a voice note from Lipa on her private Brat Instagram account a few days prior. Sivan’s “Rush” producers, Zhone and Styalz Fuego, also mentioned working on the remix and tagged Dua Lipa on their Stories, adding to the speculation about her contribution.
The original “Talk Talk” is featured on Charli XCX’s latest album, *Brat*, which was released in June to widespread acclaim. The album reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200, marking Charli’s highest chart position to date. Over the summer, Charli has been enhancing the album with various remixes, including collaborations with Addison Rae, Robyn, Yung Lean, Lorde, and Billie Eilish. The addition of Troye Sivan to the remix roster aligns with their plans to co-headline a joint tour later this year, a topic they recently discussed in an interview with i-D.
Sivan expressed excitement about their upcoming tour, noting, “Our shows at the moment are very different from each other and both speak to different elements of pop. I think that the collision of it is going to be cool.” The tour is set to highlight the unique aspects of both artists’ music, offering fans a diverse pop experience.
