Black Mirror is set to return to Netflix for season 7 in 2025 with a few new familiar installments.

The six-episode season of Charlie Brooker’s dark, satirical series will include a sequel to the season 4 sci-fi adventure titled “USS Callister.”

The latest news about the season came at Next on Netflix at the Picturehouse Central cinema and cultural space in London on Thursday. The preview event brought a slew of casting and content announcements and featured various Netflix executives and stars.

“Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning,” the global streamer said in a tease.

The episode is the sequel to the first episode of season 4, which followed Daly, portrayed by Jesse Plemons, a reclusive programmer who co-founded a popular massively multiplayer online game. The frustrated Daly simulates a Star Trek–like space adventure within the game, using his co-workers’ DNA to create digital clones of them and leading them as the captain of the USS Callister starship. But newly hired Nanette Cole, played by Cristin Milioti, ends up encouraging the other crew members to revolt against their captain.

The sci-fi adventure sequel will pick up after the events of Daly’s death.

The episode was written by series creator Brooker and William Bridges and directed by Toby Haynes.
