Netflix’s dystopian anthology series is back in production. Variety confirmed this week that “Black Mirror” Season 8 began shooting this summer in the United Kingdom, with cameras rolling at Hope Cove House in Hope Cove, England.
The seaside hotel has been transformed and renamed the “Sandcastle Hotel” for the show.
Creator Charlie Brooker returns as writer and executive producer, working alongside Bisha K. Ali (“Ms. Marvel”), who co-wrote the season’s scripts. Jessica Rhoades, Annabel Jones and Louise Sutton also serve as executive producers, with Mark Kinsella as co-executive producer.
Netflix hasn’t set a release date. Season 7 dropped in April 2025 and earned the show its first Golden Globe nominations, including nods for Rashida Jones and Paul Giamatti. If “Black Mirror” keeps its recent one to two year gap between seasons, Season 8 likely lands sometime in 2027.
Brooker has kept plot details close, only teasing that the new season will be “more Black Mirror than ever.
