Brooke Shields is wondering why she’s no longer on Tom Cruise’s infamous Coconut Cake list. This all comes after the release of the documentary, ‘Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields’.
During an interview with People Magazine, Shields revealed she is no longer a recipient of the Cruise coconut Christmas cake.
That’s right, this is no joke. Mission Impossible actor Tom Cruise, who is known for his bundt cake, suddenly stopped sending the holiday gift to the model and actress. The famous cake is raved about by many celebrities including Tom Hanks on ‘Mythical Kitchen’.
The cake costs approximately $126 and is made by Doan’s Bakery in Woodland, California. At one point, the gift was from Cruise, his then-wife Katie Homes, and their daughter Suri. Anyone can buy this cake but getting it from Cruise is a milestone for some.
Of course, Cruise and Holmes split in 2012 but the famous cake list still went on. According to Shields, the actress claims she was on the list for roughly ten years.
She stated “I was on the list for a while. I had a good 10-year run, and I got the coconut cake every year, which I was very happy [about],”
Back in 2005, Cruise criticized Shields for taking antidepressants for postpartum depression after her first child Roman’s birth. At the time, Shields responded to the incident by writing an op-ed in the New York Times. Despite the public disagreement, the two managed to move on amicably.

Shields still got an invite to Tom Cruise and Katie Homles’ wedding back in 2006, but not sure why she no longer receives the cake.
Stars like Top Gun: Maverick’s Jay Ellis, comedian Rosie O’Donnell, and more have shared their photos receiving the prestigious gift. The note reads “Warmest wishes to you this holiday season. Tom Cruise.”
But like why is it so important? I mean we are literally talking about a cake that anyone can purchase.
Well, on the Jennifer Hudson Show Jay Ellis stated “It’s literally like getting a trophy. We get the cake every year. It’s always a surprise when you get it because you’re so excited to get it — and you wanna make sure you’re still on the gift list.”
Like apparently this cake is so good that Ellis also took the cake to his family vacation in Mexico. He found whatever way he could freeze it and they ate it on Christmas day.
Allegedly Cruise gave away nearly three hundred cakes to the cast and crew of Mission Impossible, so why does Brooke Shields not get one? This could have been a simple mistake but many are not so sure.

This all comes right after the release of the Hulu documentary “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields”, which sparked a large debate on ethics in Hollywood.
The two-part series follows her former security detail, personal relationships, and tackles the major issue of minors in the entertainment industry. Viewers sympathized with Shields’ experience, like her early childhood living with a mom struggling with alcoholism. Many also reflected on the beauty standards she faced modeling for Calvin Klein and appearing in teen films like “Blue Lagoon”.
