Celebrities Pay Tribute to Lisa Marie Presley’s Legacy of Love and Music

Lisa Marie Presley passed away last night at the age of 54 after suffering a cardiac arrest. She is survived by daughters Riley Keough, 33, and twins Finley Aaron Love Lockwood and Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood, 14.

Presley was in attendance at the 80th Golden Globe’s just days ago in support of Austin Butler for his role in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis. The actor shared in several interviews ahead of awards season about how grateful he was for Lisa Marie’s support while making the film.

Fans of Presley were shocked at her sudden death, but some took note that she may have felt sick just a few days ago at the Golden Globes. A clip of her holding onto her friend for support as she appeared to be unsteady has rapidly circulated on TikTok. Some feel that this is raising awareness of the signs to watch out for before a heart attack.

Presley was married four times, to Danny Keough, Michael Jackson, Nicholas Cage, and Michael Lockwood. She was living with Keough at the time of her death. The pair moved back in together in 2020 following the death of their son Benjamin by suicide in 2020. Keough reportedly performed CPR on her before she was taken to a nearby hospital. Cage shared a heartfelt tribute to his ex wife.

Presley pursued a music career in the early 00’s, following in her father’s footsteps. Her most notable album being her 2005 release Now What. P!ink, a personal friend who also collaborated with her on the song “Shine” on the album, shared a photo of them on Instagram in her honor.

Sean Ono Lennon, the son of the Beatles’ John Lennon and artist Yoko Ono, always felt that he could relate to Presley due to their backgrounds. Lennon also began his solo music career in the early 00’s.

Michael Jackson’s nephew Taryll shared a photo of the couple during their previous relationship, and offered kind words about Presley.

Musician Billy Idol recounted their long friendship and her warm welcome to Memphis in the 90s.

David Bowie’s estate shared a photo of Presley alongside Bowie and his wife, supermodel Iman.

Actress and producer Rita Wilson shared some memories of Presley from 2022 during the Elvis movie press tour. Wilson’s husband, actor Tom Hanks, played Colonel Tom Parker in the film.

Billy Corgan, frontman of the Smashing Pumpkins, recounted their friendship in his tribute.

Donatella Versace, who worked with Presley on red carpet designs several times, shared one of her favorite of Presley’s looks on Instagram.

Nancy Sinatra, fellow singer-songwriter daughter of Frank Sinatra, was a friend of of Elvis, and the pair costarred in the 1968 film Speedway. Sinatra shared the details of a phone call between them the day Lisa Marie was born.

As fans gather at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee to pay their respects, the family announced today that she will be laid to rest on the grounds next to her son Benjamin. The cause of her cardiac arrest remains private at this time.
