Loudoun County public school district held a board meeting held a meeting last night which amassed a huge following inserting a new policy that will allow a transgender student to be identified as their chosen pronoun along with inserting classes on the importance of race called the critical race theory. In late May Loudoun County P.E teacher Tanner Cross stood up at last month’s board meeting and said, “He will not call students by their chosen pronouns because it goes against his Christian faith.” Was later suspended and reinstated for the school district’s policy 8040 which will allow transgender students to be identified by their chosen pronouns hence allowing students to use which bathroom and any other amenities that align with their gender reassignment. Along with critical race theory, this has a sparked a chaotic debate amongst parents and politicians alike.

Only 51 people were able to speak but 259 people signed up to speak, immediately within 15 minutes of the meeting parents expressed their beliefs on what would be best for their children. WUSA9 live-streamed the full event here are some of the references from the parents at last night’s fiery debate. Which brought a back and forth of different views. The first parent expressed her gratitude for policy 8040 by saying, “I want to express my gratitude for our school board members who have consistently put the safety of students first even when it’s unpopular to do so. She also thanked the lawmakers. Using correct gender pronouns for trans students is suicide prevention. This policy hurts no one and helps some of our most at-risk kids to simply feel welcome in our schools.”

Another parent Jill McKade spoke up and said, “I’m a doctor and proud member of a team who strives to work without any discrimination. Transgender identities do not constitute a mental disorder. Variations in gender identity are normal aspects of human diversity.” The speaker Kelly Herring sparked the chaos when she stood up and said, today instead of focusing on the hate that is dripping from the followers of Jesus in this room” after that the crowd erupted in boos and chants that later led into the crowd becoming rowdy.

Powerful words were expressed on both sides, Colin wood took the podium his vibrant passion for the old ways. “The very ideology for the people who built this country are under attack and the western culture is being called racist. Even more so white children are being told ‘untruthtively’ “that all the problems in this country are their fault.” The extreme views on both sides led to two arrests and one with minor injuries, Fox news reports even though this policy is non-negotiable parents still plan to fight against the policy that goes into effect July 1st.
