Cody Ko and Questlove Added to Massive Lineup of VidCon Industry Track

As the countdown to VidCon 2024 ticks away, the excitement builds with the announcement of the final additions to its Industry track. With over 150 speakers lined up under the theme “The Creator Economy Comes of Age,” this year’s event promises insightful discussions and valuable perspectives.

One of the highlights is Cody Ko, renowned for his YouTube presence with 6.2 million subscribers and as one half of Tiny Meat Gang. Ko is set to engage in a conversation with Jubilee CEO Jason Y. Lee, delving into the studio’s acclaimed YouTube series such as Middle Ground, Odd One Out, and Versus 1. With nearly 9 million subscribers on Jubilee’s channel, anticipation mounts for their collaboration announcement during the panel.

Expressing his anticipation, Ko shares, “I’m really looking forward to chatting about Jubilee and I’s new announcement, and also another venture that I think will be relevant to those in the creator sphere.”

Joining the lineup are Casey DePalma, Chief Brand Communications Officer at Unilever, and Steve Ellis, COO of Paramount Advertising. Their discussion on “the Future of Influence” aims to shed light on the trajectory of the creator economy and influencer marketing in the coming years.

Adding musical flair to the mix, Questlove, co-founder and frontman/drummer of The Roots, joins SoundExchange President/CEO Michael Huppe for a conversation moderated by Flighthouse CEO Ash Stahl. With his podcast Questlove Supreme and The Roots’ YouTube channel boasting 530,000 subscribers, Questlove will explore “the business of creating quality content and maintaining integrity while exploiting the revenue opportunities of new and evolving platforms.”

These panels mark VidCon’s concerted effort to integrate more creators into its Industry track this year. The event organizers highlight this shift, emphasizing a focus on creator perspectives to enrich discussions on business practices, brand building, and navigating traditional media and marketing.

In addition to the overarching theme of “The Creator Economy Comes of Age,” the Industry track encompasses subthemes like the maturity of the creator economy, the impact of artificial intelligence, creator-led ecommerce, and emerging monetization methods.
