What’s Trending founder and CEO Shira Lazar, who launched the Emmy-nominated media brand in 2011, said the event is a natural extension of its digital roots.

“I’ve been coming to SXSW for over 15 years, and with What’s Trending, we’re bringing Creatorpalooza back for year two as a real-world extension of what we’ve always done online — spot creator culture early, then build a space where creators, brands, and platforms can actually collaborate off the feed,” Lazar said.

The afternoon lineup includes a conversation on mental health and burnout moderated by Lazar in her role as founder of Creators 4 Mental Health, a panel on the future of AI avatars with HeyGen co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer Wayne Liang, and a session on LinkedIn creator monetization featuring Chris Do and Brianna Doe.

Sara Mengesha, Head of Community and Culture at Stan, said the platform’s involvement made sense given its creator-first mission.

“At Stan, everything starts with creators and our mission is to empower them to build what they love. So, supporting Creatorpalooza, a creator-led session, at SXSW felt like a natural way to bring that energy to life,” Mengesha said.

Stan, which counts Gary Vaynerchuk as an investor, powers more than 80,000 creators who have collectively generated $300 million in sales over the past three years.
