Danny Godoy from Next in Fashion revealed that Gigi Hadid and Tan France were harsh critics on Next in Fashion but gave some of the most prolific advice for his career. And the designer even gave his opinion on Donatella Versace.
Next in Fashion premiered with Gigi Hadid taking over as a new season host alongside judge Tan France. The competition saw many talented artists step through the studio doors, but many took notice of Godoy who went home mid-way through the competition.
Throughout the series, fans saw Inglewood native Godoy who created his unique style for drag queens bring his edge to the competition. The FIDM alum brought his own collection of bold, eye-popping looks to take home the prize.
Now a few months after the series, Godoy is letting fans in on his dynamic with Tan France, Gigi Hadid and more. In an interview with What’s Trending, Godoy mentioned that the two were very particular on their fashion taste, but also mentioned that they were inspirations to strive for.
The fashion designer stated, “I am always open to criticism from people with the knowledge behind it, and both Gigi and Tan have the knowledge behind the fashion world. They’re both designers, they are both fashion icons.” He went on to add, “Having them judge and critique my work gave me a different insight on what could be.”
Aside from the critiques, Godoy noted that Tan France gave helpful advice to the designer. The creative noted that the “Queer Eye” star mentioned not to read and feed into comments, and to keep working on your craft.
But aside from advice, there was one person Godoy says was more kind than he ever expected – Donatella Versace.
