Singer and songwriter Demi Lovato has officially tied the knot with her longtime partner, Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, in a private wedding ceremony held in California on Sunday, May 25.

The couple, who first went public with their relationship in 2022, celebrated their love in a romantic setting surrounded by close friends and family. Vogue was first to report the news.

A Vivienne Westwood Wedding Gown

Lovato, 32, wore a custom pearl white Vivienne Westwood gown, which featured a corset bodice and cathedral-style tulle veil. The artist collaborated directly with the Westwood team to create the unique bridal look.

“I have been a fan of Vivienne Westwood’s designs for a long time,” Lovato told Vogue. “When I was thinking about [what dress style I wanted], I often found myself coming back to Vivienne’s designs — specifically how the silhouettes really complement the curves in your body, and her use of corsets.”

Later in the evening, Lovato changed into a second Westwood dress for the reception: an ivory silk satin column gown with a draped corset and broken pearls cascading from the neckline. “It’s a one-of-a-kind piece that makes me feel so special,” she said.

Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Planning

Ahead of the ceremony, the couple hosted a rehearsal dinner organized by celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss. The evening included a run-through of the ceremony followed by an intimate meal.

Despite their excitement, Lovato and Lutes took their time with the planning process. In interviews with PEOPLE, the couple previously shared that they did not want the pressure of a rushed wedding.

“We’re not trying to stress ourselves out,” Lutes said in October 2024. “We’re also just enjoying being engaged.”

A Relationship Built on Creativity and Support

Lovato and Lutes first met during a writing session for her 2022 album Holy Fvck. Their professional collaboration eventually blossomed into romance. Lutes co-wrote three tracks on the album: “Substance,” “Happy Ending,” and “City of Angels.”

Lovato recalled their first meeting on the podcast LadyGang, saying she texted friends about being nervous around “the hottest guy” in the studio. Their friendship eventually turned romantic a few months later.

Since then, the couple has shared numerous public declarations of love. In a heartfelt Valentine’s Day Instagram post earlier this year, Lovato wrote, “The past 3 years have been the best 3 years of my life and I have you to thank for that… I can’t wait to grow old with you and start a family together.”

Lutes proposed in December 2023 during what PEOPLE described as a “personal and intimate proposal” in Los Angeles.

What Makes Their Relationship Work

Lovato has often spoken about how supportive and grounding Lutes has been throughout their relationship.

“It’s very grounding to have a partner that is so supportive, so loving, so caring,” Lovato told PEOPLE in September 2024. “It’s very easy to stay centered with him because I love him so much and he treats me so amazing.”

On SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Lovato added that Lutes’ personality and humor are key elements of their bond. “There’s this partnership there that is just so magnetic. We laugh nonstop… that’s the formula of a really great relationship.”

Social Media Celebrates the Couple

Fans and fellow celebrities have taken to social media to congratulate the couple on their nuptials. Lovato’s wedding photos, shared by Vogue, quickly spread online, with many praising her elegant fashion choices and the intimacy of the event.
