Dua Lipa is the first to drop a song from the upcoming “Barbie” film’s soundtrack. The accompanying music video is complete with all things glitter and disco balls, and several cameos from cast mates and director Greta Gerwig. The soundtrack will additionally feature Ice Spice, Dominic Fike, Charli XCX, Ava Max, GAYLE, HAIM, Kali, KAROL G, Khalid, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, Tame Impala, FIFTYFIFTY, The Kid LAROI, and even Ken himself (Ryan Gosling).

The soundtrack announcement also listed “more Barbies and Kens to be announced.” Some fans suspect that Billie Eilish may snag a feature.

Others cast votes on who the other secret artists may be. Theories included Lady Gaga, Kim Petras, and more.

What’s This Movie About?

Greta Gerwig‘s much anticipated “Barbie” starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the titular roles has a new trailer and a new soundtrack. The all-pink sun-soaked and star-studded film has already made waves with only vague information about the plot. From viral meme templates to behind-the-scenes anecdotes about how Gosling stepped into Ken’s shoes, the film is setting the stage to become one of the biggest theatrical debuts of the summer.

Today, a new trailer dropped depicting the journey that Robbie’s Barbie will take viewers on. The trailer depicts the Barbies and Kens dancing and lounging on the beach in the idealized Barbieland. One day, Barbie’s arched feet (mimicked to match the high-heel feet of Barbie dolls) fall flat after she asks the group if they ever think of dying. She is then encouraged to take a pilgrimage to the real world.

Fans of Gerwig’s directing (Ladybird, Little Women, and more) are dissecting the newly unveiled plot details of the film. Some even point to real life pop culture events as potential inspirations behind the film.

The glimpses into the film are receiving praise across social media.
