Actor Dylan Sprouse married his girlfriend of five years, model Barbara Palvin, this past weekend. The ceremony was held in Palvin’s home country of Hungary, and paid homage to several of her cultural traditions. The couple first met in 2018 in typical millennial fashion–over Instagram DM. Sprouse recounted inviting the model out on a date, only for her to not return his message for another six months.
Of course, Palvin returned the actor’s message once she had returned to New York City, and the rest is history. The couple were reportedly engaged in 2022, but only confirmed the engagement to the press several months ago. Details of the ceremony continue to emerge, but it was confirmed that Sprouse’s twin brother and fellow actor Cole Sprouse was the best man. The Sprouse twins famously starred in Disney’s “The Suite Life” and “The Suite Life on Deck” together. The duo then attended New York University, with Cole becoming the first twin to return to acting with “Riverdale.”
Palvin wore a corset style satin white gown, while Sprouse opted for a classic black suit at the pair’s local church ceremony. Given Sprouse’s history as a child star, many fans of the actor felt bittersweet when seeing the pair’s wedding photos. Countless Gen Z and millennial viewers grew up watching the brothers’ humorous shenanigans on the Disney sitcom. Sprouse recently starred in the film “Beautiful Disaster”, and has forged a new path in meadery. Palvin began her career modeling for Victoria’s Secret, and has since worked with a number of luxury brands, including Armani.

Outside of the positive comments towards the happy couple, avid pop culture followers had several observations. Oddly enough, two high profile divorces were also announced today. Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello announced their divorce after seven years of marriage, and Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez announced their marriage ended after two years.

The former did not specify a reason for their split, and the latter appeared to attribute the divorce to Grande’s hectic “Wicked” shooting schedule and high level of fame. Fans of Palvin and Sprouse were quick to recognize the interesting timing of the wedding announcement, and hope that the string of bad luck surrounding the other celebrity couples did not strike them next.
