Florence Pugh, an actress known for her work in the popular films Little Women and Black Widow, recently faced rumors that she was dating her former co-star Will Poulter. When the two were photographed at the beach together, hanging out and laughing, some theorized that the two were romantic. But, Pugh has been dating Zach Braff for a while now, which has created controversy due to their 21-year difference. Pugh has shut down offensive comments before, which she does again when shutting down rumors of her dating Poulter.

Since some do not like Pugh and Braff together due to their age difference, people were happy to see the two together and wanted to see them date. “I think that would nicely set the tone for the whole summer,” one person wrote about Pugh breaking up with Braff to pursue Poulter.

But, Pugh set the record straight online and said that the two were not dating. Pugh has spoken out about the hatred she and Braff faced before, saying “I’m 24 years old, I do not need you to tell me who I should and should not love” on Instagram. This time, she took her thoughts to Instagram as well, as she writes “This is getting a little silly now. No, Will Poulter and I are not dating,” she clarifies. She also notes that other friends joined them on the trip, but they had been edited out in some photos.

“I understand that the nature of this job is that you sometimes get your privacy completely bulldozed by the paparazzi, but to fabricate this stuff actually does more damage than good,” she clarified. And, since some people had made fun of her partner Braff for being older, with one person joking that she dropped him off at a nursing home, she writes that “On another note, a very important note. There’s no need to drag people through this. Regardless of your opinion on who I should or shouldn’t be with, at the end of the day if you’re complimenting someone by trolling another person… you’re just bullying.”
